Cabrillo Beach Summer Day Camp - awesome adventures wait for you!

Venue
The camp is located at Cabrillo Beach Youth Waterfront Center in San Pedro, CA. This fantastic site is on a private beach with an ocean view. It is also within minutes of the Cabrillo Beach Marine Aquarium. Amenities include: Beautiful Sandy Beach, Bird Estuary, Beach Volleyball, Olympic size pool for snorkel training and swim instruction.

SESSIONS:
Daycampers will be grouped by age:
            Pretty Cool Plankton – Ages 5-6
            Incredible Invertebrates – Ages 7-9
            Marvelous Mammals – Ages 10-11

Activities
Intro to snorkeling and swim instruction - Learn about local fish and discover the thrill of snorkeling. Bird lab and kayak — Kayak around the Cabrillo bay and explore several species of birds in our private bird estuary. Cabrillo Marine Aquarium – an awesome experience awaits. Learn of marine life and explore lifecycles of many marine animals. Invertebrate lab and squid dissection — Hunt sea stars, cucumbers, octopus and more exciting marine invertebrates in the Cabrillo tidepools. Mud flats — Team work and a beach seine net will bring us many surprises such as bottom dwelling fish, rays and shrimp. Tubing — Ride behind the boat on an intertube! Free time — Swim, play volleyball, basketball or beach comb! Afternoon skill sessions — Fishing, boat handling, arts and crafts, survival skills and more! Evening stuff — Campfires, trust walks, astronomy, nocturnal animals, night snorkel, luau, great fellowship!

Accommodations, Food, and Other Information

Delicious meals provided through our cafeteria.
Counselor camper ratio is 1 to 8 or 9 children.
During waterfront periods two lifeguard certified staff will be present to teach and monitor campers.

* Day Campers will not be overnighting at Cabrillo. Guardians will drop off and pick up each day. Lunches will need to be provided with campers.

Day Camp: $188.00 - Includes program, supplies and equipment for activities.
