Sea Summer Day Camp
June 18 - August 24th, 2007

Venue

The Camp is located at Newport Back Bay Science Center.
Back Bay Science Center, 600 Shellmaker Rd., Newport Beach, CA 92660
Our instructional cove is situated in a marine preserve.

SESSIONS:

Start your morning off by working side-by-side with REAL biologists and naturalists. You’ll get to spend the morning having fun and participating in the following:

  • Invertebrate touch tank
  • Live shark and ray observation
  • Plankton viewing through videoscopes
  • Bird observations
  • Squid dissections
  • Whales and dolphins program
  • Field trips to Back Bay Marine Science Center

    Kick your day into high gear by spending the afternoon participating in the following high adventure “skill sessions”:
  • Kayaking
  • Beach Sports and Games
  • Naturalist Training
  • Arts and Crafts

    Each week will offer a different topic of focus.

    June 25 -29 The Wonderful World of Whales
    July 2 - 6 Discovering the Secrets of Tidepools
    July 9 -13 Groovy Gulls & Other Flying Friends
    July 16 -20 Crazy Crustaceans
    July 23- 27 Silly Seals & Spectacular Sea Lions
    July 30 - August 3 Dynamic Dolphins
    August 6 -10 Funny Fish & Electrifying Eels
    August 13 -17 Sharks & Rays II
    August 20 -24 A Whale of a Week

    Program is suited for children grades 1-6.

    Cost:

    Full Day = $195/week
    Half Day = $145/week

    Camps are from 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
    Extended camp is available from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for an additional $15 per day.

    EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DISCOUNT:
    Register and pay in full by March 15th via check and receive $10 off tuition

    MULTI-CHILD FAMILY DISCOUNT:
    Full Day - $20 discount for second child
    All additional siblings 1/2 price

    MULTI-SESSION DISCOUNT:
    Full Day - $15 off any additional weeks
    Half Day - $10 off any additional weeks
