| SUSTAINABILITY/STEWARDSHIP |
MSA immerses kids in nature while teaching the essence of field biology. Day by day, we are acutely aware of the fragile condition of our planet. We are also well positioned to be agents for environmental change. The role a marine or field science camp teacher can play in influencing the character of a whole generation of kids is both exciting and powerful!
The number one challenge facing the children we currently serve when they become adults will be reconciling the impact of their daily lives with the limitations of our global ecosystem.
MSA is dedicated to provide children with positive, stimulating instruction for creating an ecologically sensitive culture. We are committed to infusing the most up-to-date environmental education into all aspects of our programs. Our kids will be the professionals, decision-makers, leaders and teachers of the future. |
 |
| We are committed that they come away with a lasting awe and wonder about the natural world, increased environmental literacy and be equipped to increase sustainable practices within their respective communities.
Our goal is to:
— integrate the principles of sustainability within all MSA science learning and practice
— engage all MSA kids in transforming action for the planet
— continually improve our own sustainability performance within the day-to-day practices of MSA
|
| Content integrated within our curriculum includes:
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink
Waste, Water, Wind and Wave
Conserving Fragile Ecosystems and Biodiversity
Vision Casting Creative Possibilities for Earth-Keeping
Action Modules for Earth-Keeping
Join us in this meaningful and rewarding work.
If MSA is to continue to grow and take a stronger role in moving our culture into sustainability, it will need many new partners. Please consider how you can contribute with your time, talent or financial support.
